Stagezone Youth Theatre is a brand new “not for profit†community youth drama group for 6-18 year olds, which has been set up after seeing a real need for children in the local area to have a group they can take ownership of, which builds their confidence/self-esteem and communication skills.
Having been involved with the theatre all of my life, I am passionate about the use of theatre to develop confident and expressive young people of all abilities, and research has recognised the intrinsic value of drama as an important life skill, which enables young people to succeed.
Keeping the subscription fees low enables children from all backgrounds to benefit from Stagezone Youth Theatre, and any extra funds generated from fundraising will enable the group to perform regularly. Â
There are many children who just want to have a chance to perform, but they are overlooked due to a lack of confidence.
Stagezone gives these young people a chance to shine. There is such a need in the local area to engage young people in regular sessions, learning teamwork and social skills through drama.
